However, in your Map and Direction section of the site, Raktim Banerjee wrote that his car got stuck in the sand at the junction of road ending at Dadan Patrabar and the beach and he had to shell out money to the locals for helping him out; he had also given a photograph. I plan to visit Mandarmani during April with my family. It will be of great help if you can kindly let me know whether the road condition is same as described by Mr. Raktim and is it ok for a hatchback like ALTO to negotiate the sand slope mentioned at Dadan Patrabar - sea beach junction? answers (March 29, 2011): Dear Mr. Partho: Greetings from EcoVilla!!! I have carefully looked at the photograph of a car getting stuck in sand provided by Mr. Raktim Banerjee. As far as I know, at this time (March 2011) starting from my resort on Mandarmani beach there is no place where a car can get stuck in sand. Mandarmani beach is covered by hard sand and there is no chance for a car to get stuck. But during the rainy season a driver should have good knowledge of the road. That time there is a chance to get stuck if you drive on mud. In April, there should be no chance of getting stuck in mud. Just be aware of tide timings and avoid driving on the beach during that time. For your information, I see many small cars like Tata Nano roaming here and there on Mandarmani beach everyday. Hence electrical power is not available for four hours a day. They run the generators for 20 hours and keep them idle for four hours. If that happens then the room remains empty. Mandarmoni beach is safe after sunset. Since after 10 P.M. the beach becomes less crowded, and most of the resorts are on the beach, we suggest that you enjoy the beach inside a resort after 10 P.M. Hi, First and foremost, three cheers for the team of Kolahal to bring most of the details of hotels at one place, so that one need not have to run after many travel sites, which most of the times do not provide the details about the hotel you want to know. I would like to suggest you few things for making it better and more influential. 1. Arrange the posts in date wise order, so that the latest queries are at the top. It is a bit easy for the traveler if latest queries, reviews etc are at top. 2. Just 4-5 resorts reply to the queries. In that case, it seems as those few are dominating the scene. No doubt they are the better ones and provide the best of facilities, but still, it would be more heartening if most of them participate in this and this also provide the traveler with more options to pick from. 3. Kindly do something to arrange for more traveler reviews on some of the hotels. 4. Put up something, so that one can compare and choose from the few hotels they have shortlisted. Now regarding my travel plans. I'll be travelling to Mandarmani on the 24th of September with my girlfriend. The stay can be of 2N/3N. It's not fixed. My budget per day is around INR 1800-2500. I would like to get in a hassle free and peaceful hotel. The rooms should be sea facing. If I can get a room with a refrigerator in the room and a bathtub in the bathroom, that will be an additional bonus. Apart from this, I would like to know that some cities and hotels in some part of the country have issues with unmarried couples. So kindly let me know what is the scene here in Mandarmani. There is a review of Hotel Dreamland from a visitor who disagreed with an existing review and clearly stated it. In the Sana Beach page there is a management response to a review. Thus, Kolahal visitors can hear both sides of a story. A significant part of a resort description in Kolahal is intended to be visitor reviews. The reviews are prominently displayed in each page.
